Placement Testing:

All applicants must take and pass BOTH English and Math placement tests prior to submitting an Early College Application.  Placement testing is available at CVCC-Bedford, CVCC-Lynchburg, and SRHS on select dates to be announced.  There is NO fee for the placement test!!

Benefits:

Bedford County Public Schools pays for books and provides transportation during school hours.

The Early College curriculum includes general education courses which are usually required in the first two years of many baccalaureate programs.

Taking courses through Early College reduces the overall cost of college.

Other Information:

In conjunction with Early College, students are required to meet all BCPS diploma requirements.

Earning an Associate’s Degree does not guarantee “junior status” at a 4 year college or university.

Early College students are encouraged to become familiar with the requirements of any post-secondary options and consult with an adviser from those schools for assistance in interpreting any transferring credits towards a bachelor’s degree.

More Information:

If you have questions, contact your school counselor or career coach, Mrs. Susan Simms.
