SAT and ACT Tests


SAT or ACT is required for admission into 4-year colleges/universities. See below for SAT and ACT sign up dates. Visit Collegeboard.org (SAT) and ACT.org (ACT) for the most up to date information. 


Students eligible for a fee waiver may receive up to 2 fee waivers for both the SAT and ACT. Email your School Counselor. [SRHS SAT and ACT Test Center Code: 471450.] 


When signing up to take the SAT/ACT be sure to select colleges/universities that you would like your scores sent to. Colleges will not accept SAT/ACT scores unless the student requests an official score report be sent directly from the testing agency (ACT or College Board). Students will be able to send their score reports for free to four schools of their choice.

SAT vs. ACT

SAT is scored on a scale of 400-1600

ACT is scored on a scale of 1-36

SAT questions require more time to understand/answer

ACT questions tend to be more straightforward

SAT does not have a science section

ACT has a science section that tests your critical thinking skills

Students who register and take the SAT with a fee waiver will, as a senior, receive 4 college application fee waivers directly from College Board. Seniors will access these college application fee waivers through their College Board account. Contact your school counselor to see if you qualify for an SAT or ACT fee waiver.
