Mrs. Kreppeneck
Hello, and welcome students to 8th grade English
at Staunton River High School! My name is Mrs. Kreppeneck, and this is my 20th
year in education, and my first year with Bedford County Public Schools!
I am originally from upstate NY, where I went to college
earning bachelor degrees in both psychology and education. After moving to North
Carolina, I completed my Master’s Degree in Education at Wingate University. I
am certified in Elementary Education, Middle and High School English, and
Gifted Education. To me, teaching English is special because it gives students
a voice. Through discussions, students learn how writers view the world and
learn what they have in common, hopefully giving them the confidence to express
themselves.
My family moved to Virginia from North Carolina six years
ago and we absolutely love it here! My husband is a middle school science
teacher, and we have two boys. Jacob is 19, and a freshman in college, Matthew
is 16 and a junior in high school. They are both musicians, Matthew plays
percussion instruments, so our house can get a bit noisy! We all love the
outdoor so we spend time on the hiking, boating and camping! I love to garden,
and Mr. K loves to work on his grass! So we are out there a lot.
This year will certainly be different for all of us, but I’m
confident that with a little patience and grace, we will have a great year! I look forward to meeting all of you!
