There have been several questions about the 2021 SRHS Prom.  Currently, the Governor’s order does not allow for an event like a traditional prom.  We have a date and venue tentatively scheduled, but it does not look like those plans can occur under the current guidelines.

We will continue to monitor the situation.  If the order changes to allow a larger gathering, we would like to hold a social event for seniors while still adhering to all social distancing guidelines. We will communicate any plans for a senior event if it becomes possible and as soon as possible.  In the event that prom is cancelled, those who purchased tickets last year and have not received a refund yet, will receive a refund in the mail.

The Recruitment and Retention Team is excited to announce a BCPS JOB FAIR for non-exempt positions (support staff) that will consist of applicants participating in a virtual interview session. Non- exempt includes: Paraprofessionals, bus drivers, secretaries, bookkeepers, nutrition worker, maintenance workers, custodians, and substitutes. It is for anyone that is non-exempt that supports our schools. The fair will be open until the end of May. Check out the flyer by clicking the following link: BCPS Non-Exempt Positions Job Fair

STANDARDS OF LEARNING INFORMATION
The Virginia Department of Education has issued an emergency guideline for SOL testing for this Fall Semester. Students who do not pass their End o Course SOL for any Fall Semester course may still earn a Locally-Awarded Verified Credit by: Scoring between 350-399, and passing the associated class this fall semester

Because of this guideline, we will not be scheduling any expedited retakes for Fall Semester SOLs. However, if your student meets the expedited retake qualifications by scoring between 375-399 (or 350-399 for a student with an IEP) and passes the associated course, you may request an expedited retake for your student by contacting Ms. Richards at sunshine.richards@bedford.k12.va.us.
